A number of antique tractor collectors in California who are affiliated with the Heidrick Museum are hosting the largest gathering of Best, Holt and Cat tractors ever assembled. The tractors will be assembled on the Dan Best Ranch north of Woodland, California on June 20, 21 and 22, 2008. The primary reasons Woodland was selected are because the Heidrick Museum (which includes the most significant collection of antique Best, Holt and Cat tractors) is located in Woodland and because many of the senior collectors have their collections in Woodland.

Dan Best, the great grandson of C.L. Best, has graciously agreed to host the Show with his father on the Dan Best Ranch in Woodland. The Best's are providing a 150 acre farm field directly adjacent to their shops. The Show has firm commitments from collectors around the western United States to bring as complete a lineup of existing Best, Holt and pre War tractors as exists. We anticipate that the Best and Holt tractors alone will number in excess of 50 and we believe that more than 100 Best and Holt tractors will be on display.

Among the numerous significant tractors to be displayed will be Don Hunter's fully operational full scale replica of a Holt steam crawler circa 1906. Don is in the final stages of fabricating and assembly and the Show will be the premier for this significant tractor. The Show will also feature a fully restored 1905 Holt ground propelled harvester which will be pulled by a team of 26 mules. The Joe Heidrick Foundation will also be allowing us to use their 1905 Best Steamer pulling the only operational Best harvester in the world. There will be numerous other early harvesters harvesting approximately 30 acres of grain. In addition to the above features, numerous demonstrations, daily parades, antique engines and steam displays, a "play area" where shovels, blades, scrapers, dozers and other early equipment will be demonstrated.
